# Analytics Overview

## Understanding your game results

Once your game has been played, Elevent gives you two views of what happened — and they answer different questions.

- The **Reporting** tab is about your sessions and **players**. Who played, who won, how they scored, how long it took.
- The **Summary** tab is about your **questions**. Which ones people got right, which ones tripped them up, and what wrong answers they picked instead.

Most people go straight to Reporting, name a winner, and close the tab. That's a fine start — but the Summary tab is where you find out how to make the next game better.

---

Which tab do I need?

| I want to know... | Go to |
| --- | --- |
| What sessions were played | **Reporting** |
| What individual players scored | **Reporting** |
| How many people played, and how many finished | **Reporting** |
| How long a typical playthrough takes | **Reporting** |
| Which questions were too easy or too hard | **Summary** |
| What wrong answers people picked | **Summary** |
| Whether a question is confusing rather than just difficult | **Summary** |
| Where in the game people are dropping off | **Summary** |

Both tabs cover **every session of that experience**, not just the most recent one. If you've run the same quiz with four teams, you're looking at all four combined.

---

How to get to either one

1. Go to **Experiences → All Experiences** in the left sidebar.
2. Find your quiz and click the **edit** (pencil) icon on its card.
3. Click **Summary** or **Reporting** in the top bar.

---

The Reporting tab: how your players did

At the top, five cards give you the headline numbers — total sessions played, total players, average time to complete, the share of games played all the way through, and the average player score.

Below that, the **Player Leaderboard** ranks top performers across all sessions, with each player's score, how many they got right, how long they took, and when they played. **Export Player Data** downloads the full results.

**Why you'd care:** this is your event-day tab. It's how you name a winner, pull results for a prize drawing, tell a client how many of their people showed up, and figure out how much time to book for the next one.

---

The Summary tab: how your questions did

At the top, cards confirm how the game is set up — question duration, scoring mode, question selection — followed by your description.

Below that, every question gets its own card showing how many answers it received, what percentage got it right, its points and time limit, and for multiple choice, a bar for every answer option with the count and percentage who picked it. The correct answer is marked in green; incorrect options in red. **Export Summary** downloads the question-level breakdown.

**Why you'd care:** this is your improvement tab. A question where nearly everyone is right isn't earning its place. A question where almost nobody is right might be confusing rather than hard. And a wrong answer that pulls a big share of the room is telling you something specific — either you've found a great misconception worth explaining, or your question needs rewording.

---

Why you want both

The two tabs work as a pair. Reporting tells you *that* something happened. Summary tells you *why*.

**"Our average score was low."** Reporting shows you the average sitting well below where you'd like it. Summary shows you which questions dragged it down — and whether they were genuinely hard or just badly worded.

**"People aren't finishing the game."** Reporting shows your completion rate slipping. Summary shows you *where* they're going: compare the Answers Received count on your first question to your last. If it slides steadily, the game is running long. If it falls off a cliff at question seven, look hard at question seven.

**"Everyone scored really well."** Reporting makes it look like a hit. Summary might show that most of your questions were near-universal gets, which means the game was pleasant but not much of a contest. Time to add some teeth.

**"This one player ran away with it."** Reporting shows the gap at the top of the leaderboard. Summary shows whether that's because they knew the material or because speed bonuses in Point Mode did the heavy lifting — check whether the top scorers actually got more answers right.

The habit worth building: check Reporting right after the game while people still care about the leaderboard, then come back to Summary before you run it again.

---

Exporting your results

Both tabs have their own export:

- **Export Player Data** (Reporting) — results by player
- **Export Summary** (Summary) — results by question

Export before you start editing a game you plan to re-run, so you keep a clean record of how the original version performed.

---

Frequently asked questions

**When do results appear?** After a session has been played. A quiz that hasn't been launched yet shows empty reporting.

**Can I see results for just one session?** Both tabs show all sessions combined. Export the data to break it out by date.

**Can I clear results and start over?** Duplicate the experience and run the copy — the new one starts with clean reporting.

**Why do two players with the same number of correct answers have different scores?** In Point Mode, faster correct answers earn more points. Switch to Correct Answers mode in Settings if you want knowledge to be the only factor.
