How does the inquiry & booking process work?

It is not Elevent’s expectation that you hold dates perpetually. In each event request you can see the amount of time we are asking to hold the date & time.

Below maps out Elevent’s inquiry/hold process:

  1. Order Inquiry - Availability request or client question. At this stage there is no hold put on the date or time, we are asking if the host is available.
  2. Order Hold - A quote has been sent to the customer and you will receive an event request if instant book is turned off.  You can see the expiration date of the hold in the request:

If instant book is on, the request will be automatically approved.  The quote indicates to the client that they need to pay the invoice within that time frame or the date is not held
  3. Order Confirmation - The host receives an order confirmation email from no-reply@em.bookelevent.com and the event will be listed under "Upcoming" awaiting the hosts’ video conference link and/or emergency contact information
  4. Closed Lost - Elevent does our best to notify hosts if a client informs Elevent they would not like to move forward. However, given the volume of inquiries we receive there are times Elevent does not hear back from the customer, so not every inquiry gets that closed loop.

If that time expires and the host has not heard from Elevent, we expect that the host will release the date for other bookings and clients.

If you cannot book events at a certain time please block it off on your calendar:

If a customer comes back and wants to move forward with an event, Elevent will start the inquiry process over again with the host, as it is not the expectation that hosts hold dates in perpetuity.
