5 Easy ways to improve the Sales of my listings

In this article we help identify the ways you can help your listing stand out and improve your sales. We have summarized our search and sales data by price and policies to help you optimize your listings to appeal to more customers.

Top ways to improve your sales

1) Check that your Price is within budget of a large number of events

Compare your listing pricing with the Customer Budget Data below. We have quantified the percentage of events who's budget meets or exceed each price point below for overall virtual events as well as several of our most popular categories.

In a lot of cases, especially with bigger companies, there are hard caps on their price per person that a customer can spend on a team building event. Reviewing your event to see if there are changes you could make to bring the price into a more broadly appealing range can have significant impact on the percentage of events your listing would be eligible for and thus bookings.

In some cases hosts create multiple similar offerings at different price points (e.g. standard and deluxe) in order to appeal to more events but still maintain a premium offering.

2) Review your listing content

Make sure your listing content has great images, title and descriptions. A customers ability to quickly understand what they would be doing for an event and why it would be a great option for their team is critical to getting bookings.

We suggest you take a look at other Best Selling listings on our site below for ideas on what others do well for best practices that you could employ to improve your listings.

3) Adjust your Host policies and lead time to be more flexible and appeal to a broader set of events

Compare your policies with the Host Policy Impact data below. Many customers don't have final the headcount at the time of booking and are looking to book the event right then without waiting to hear back but also don't want to be locked in without any recourse.

Having a flexible headcount policy, instant book enabled and a low risk cancelation policy can have dramatic impacts on bookings.

For example the biggest sales impact for events with shipments is Flexible Headcount Policy. Events with shipments that had a Flexible Headcount Policy saw more than triple the sales (3.64 times) on average than events with shipments that did not allow for adjustable headcount.

Alternatively the biggest sales impact for events without shipments is Instant Book. Events without shipments that had instant book enabled saw more than triple the sales (3.44 times) on average than events without shipments that did not have instant book enabled.

Changes to any of the policies, lead time, or minimum headcount can all have an impact on sales and is why we have tried to quantify the impact of those policies in the Host Policy Impact infographic below.

4) Add themed listings

If you have any holiday or DEI themed version of your events those are great options to add and can be fresh sets of eyeballs that see the listing outside of its core category.

In general adding more listings with the right criteria above usually does result in more sales and adding Holiday or DEI themed variations can be an added boost.

To add more listings go to the listing management tab (link below) in your host portal and submit them individually or download an excel template of information to bulk add new listings.

5) Increase capacity for peak demand with holiday staffing and/or self-hosted events

Historically we see a 6-10x increase in the number of weekly events run between September and December. Staffing up to be able to handle the influx of events in December can mean exponentially more revenue during peak demand.

To see the most common virtual event days and times on when to expect the highest demand below is a help article outlining the most popular event day of the week, event time of day and week of the year.

In addition to staffing up to help handle peak demand alternative ways to maintain offerings for teams to be able to do your events are to offer Self-Hosted versions. A self-hosted event is a video or game link that guides you through the event experience. Below are examples on our site of Self-Hosted events with kits and all self-hosted events.
