The featured category algorithm takes into account sales history, host policies, review rating, quote acceptance rate and more.
With the new Featured category algorithm customer friendly policies, reviews, prompt quote approval and avoiding declining quotes will increase your listing position on categories pages! Our page order algorithm will now sort and rank listings based on a summation of important actions and feedback.
Here’s an overview of the primary things that will impact your listing position:
- Sales - A combination of recent sales performance and prior year sales performance if applicable: tips on how to improve sales
- Review Score Modifier - Listings with enough reviews will receive a boost for a review score over 4.5 and a decrease for a review score below 4.5
- Boost for having a Flexible Headcount Policy - How to setup your Flexible Headcount
- Boost for having Instant Book Enabled - How to enable Instant Book (this will approve requests automatically)
- Quote approval time - quote approval expectation is within 24 hours. Approving your quotes quickly will have a positive impact on your ranking and taking over 24 hours will have a negative impact on your ranking.
- Quote Decline rate - Declining quotes booked on the front end of the website will have a negative impact on your ranking. Making sure you have the correct information and availability is imperative to avoid declines. See how with our: Tips to Improve availability accuracy on site and avoid declines
This means that failing to respond to quotes, a high volume of event declines compared to accepted requests, or receiving auto-reminders for responses or unfinished actions on events will suppress your listing on category pages.
To decrease declines you can drive customers to your ideal booking times by managing your calendar. For example, if you are not available for specific dates and times, you can indicate your availability in your calendar in your host portal driving customers to choose dates and time you can accept.
